All the main pieces have now been painted with a white undercoat and it is now time to start putting the sides up. David and Julie have a hard time finding the first piece.
T

hey help to hold the wall in place while I do a dry fit to make sure it is going to go together with all the tabs. Then I glued the first pieces in place.

I do not have any clamps so I have to rely on masking tape to hold everything together while the glue dries. David and Julie helped to apply the tape.
Great pictures, such nice ideas!
ReplyDeleteDear Julie and David! What would you ever do without them, Doreen? I just love those little dolls. Somehow, as time went by, they seemed to take on a personality of their own. That does happen with dolls when they are made to appear often in scenes. Your house is coming along well. You're so much quicker than I am. I started building mine about fifteen years ago. The shell is finished and this summer, I did the siding and the shingles and I also added an extra wing which gives me two extra rooms. Now I need to do the wiring. Perhaps if I tried to keep up with you, I might get it finished. I'll think about that.
ReplyDeletehooray!!! How exciting- I love when the first walls go up and you get to start to see a house form :)
ReplyDeleteLooking good :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so neat! I'm so happy to have stumbled upon your blog! I've always wanted to create and decorate my own doll house, but just haven't had the time or space yet. I'll just live vicariously through you for a while. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

I love the way David and Julie are helping to build the house! I wonder if my little family will help me to build their new home ~ mind you, Rachel may be too busy with their three children :-) Still, Vincent may be able to give me a hand when he isn't at work ;-)
