Our yard is full of dandelions and if we were still in town, this would be very upsetting as Norris always maintained a lush green lawn with hardly any weeds in it. But here in the country, everything is rather wild and actually I love it. The green and yellow is so pretty.
Although dandelions are considered a weed, I have always liked them. I remember my mother used to take my "bouquet" and put them in the middle of the kitchen table and my hands were always stained from picking them.
Then when I had children, they also used to bring me bouquets of dandelions and I put them in the middle of my table. It is too bad that I am not a wine drinker as I sure have a lot of material for dandelion wine. LOL
That so beautiful meadow !!
ReplyDeleteBut the flower that I like most is Brandy ;O)
Well.. I like (almost love) fireweed (but NOT when they seeds begin to mature *grin*) and cow parsley and they are also called weeds :)
ReplyDeleteI even had cow parsley in our wedding in the church as a decoration =0}
And in the Midsummer I put a BIG bouquet of them in the door sides.. I think they look lovely.
Doreen, this brings back memories. The best part is yet to come. I love the puffy white seed heads and blowing them off in the wind to float away. Dandelions are few and far between in AZ. I miss them.
